French search engine joins anti-Google campaign
French search engine 1plusV is the latest to join the anti-competitive wrangle taking place between Google and European search engines.
The firm alleges that Google prevented it from using its AdSense advertising service between 2006 and 2010. The search engine, focusing on sites on topics including law, culture and music, said that throughout this time, Google made its sites invisible to searchers. The claim stated, "For eJustice.fr, Google's decision to remove it from its search results was catastrophic in terms of traffic."
Google claims that the responsibility for getting a place on Google SERPS lies with the companies, which could do more to ensure their websites can be picked up by the Google crawlers.
However, the site in question says this is untrue, as it has been relisted on Google in December last year without making any modifications at all. It said, "The relisting is in complete contradiction with the Google argument that eJustice.fr was delisted because it provided no value to the internet user."
