Google launches new book to explain the web
A new online book has been published by search engine giant Google, to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the release of a paper by the web’s founder, Sir Tim Berniers Lee.
Google says the paper was vital to the development of the internet as we know it and that the new online book hopes to further clarify the web for anyone who is interested in finding out more.
'20 Things I Learned about Browsers and the Web' was written by the Chrome team in conjunction with illustrator Christoph Niemann. Its release was announced on the Google blog by Chrome Product Marketing Manager, Min Li Chan, who said the book will try to answer questions like: "how do browsers and the web actually work? What is HTML5 — or HTML, for that matter? What do terms like “cookies” or “cloud computing” even mean?"
The book has been produced using HTML5, the latest 'language' of the web, which allows the team behind the book to provide the content offline once it has been downloaded.
The book is an essential read for anyone hoping to get their own online content off the ground and ensure they are picked up by Google and other search engines.
